A man is accused of stabbing his daughter and wife at their Middleton home Friday, according to a source.Police confirmed that a 54-year-old man was taken into custody after a 54-year-old woman and 13-year-old girl were attacked at their residence on Stanley Road. A source told NewsCenter 5 that the man stabbed his wife and daughter. The District Attorney’s office later identified the suspect as Paul Salvaggio and said he faces charges including two counts of armed assault with intent to murder.”A 54-year-old woman was transported to Beverly Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. A 13-year-old child was transported to Beverly Hospital and subsequently was transported to Children’s Hospital, where she remains in critical condition,” Middleton Police Department Chief Bill Sampson said.A family friend said the girl was cut on her face and stomach.Police focused their investigation on the driveway in an area near a garage. By late morning, a large group of investigators had arrived.“It’s tragic. Imagine how the girl feels — somebody you trust in your own family would do that. It’s got to be frightening for her,” neighbor Pam Hartman said.Neighbor Arun Nargund said he knows the family and has never seen a problem at the home before.“We always see people walking, say, ‘Hi,’ and stop by and talk. So, I mean, I’m shocked,” Nargund said.
