Loved ones of a Massachusetts demolition worker who died in a partial collapse at a parking garage in Boston are honoring his memory. Peter Monsini, 51, died March 26 when he fell nine stories after the concrete he was working on at the Government Center garage collapsed underneath him and the construction vehicle he was operating.On Saturday, dozens of vehicles — including tractor-trailer trucks and motorcycles — drove under two American flags that were hoisted above the road near Monsini’s South Easton home on Washington Street, as Monsini’s family looked on.Monsini was a 20-year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 4.His family announced that calling hours will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Russell & Pica Funeral Home in Brockton. A funeral Mass is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Church in South Easton.Click here for the GoFundMe page that has been set up for Monsini’s 17-year-old son, Anthony.As Monsini’s family prepares to lay him to rest, crews in Boston began the work of removing the 115 tons of debris and rubble that fell from the Government Center garage during the deadly demolition accident.The MBTA’s Green Line train service remains suspended between North Station and Government Center Station as crews remove the debris, which needs to be cleared in order for inspectors to check the Green Line subway tunnels below the garage for damage.The MBTA did restore Orange Line service between North Station and Back Bay Station on Tuesday, but Orange Line trains continue to bypass Haymarket Station.
