A woman is in the custody of Boston police after she was charged with murdering a 71-year-old man in Manchester and stealing his car, according to authorities in New Hampshire.New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella and Manchester police Chief Alan Aldenberg announced Sunday that 34-year-old Stephanie Beard was arrested in Boston on Saturday after a warrant charging her with second-degree murder was issued. Investigators said the victim, John Glennon, was found dead at about 8 a.m. Friday inside his home at the Carpenter Center apartment complex on Franklin Street. According to investigators, Glennon was stabbed in the head with a knife and is believed to have been killed in the early-morning hours on Friday.An autopsy conducted Saturday determined that the cause of Glennon’s death was multiple sharp force injuries and the manner of his death was homicide.A spokesperson for the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office would not comment to WMUR, WCVB’s sister station, about any relationship between Beard and Glennon.Formella’s office said Beard was also charged with theft by unauthorized taking for stealing Glennon’s car, a silver Subaru Impreza. Authorities said Beard had been seen driving Glennon’s car in the Manchester area, heading south on Interstate 293.Beard has been charged with being a fugitive from justice in Massachusetts. She is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Boston Municipal Court.Authorities did not say when Beard could be brought back to New Hampshire to face the murder and theft charges.
