Eva Kor was only ten years old when her family was taken to Auschwitz by the Nazis. She and her twin sister were the only survivors of the family and were forced to be part of inhumane experiments for 9 months at the hands of the infamous Dr. Mengele. As an adult, Eva fought for decades to bring Dr. Mengele to justice and also founded a museum dedicated to the “Mengele twins.” 50 years after her harrowing experience in a concentration camp, Eva found the power of forgiveness. She spent the rest of her life educating people on the Holocaust, forgiveness, and her life lessons.
Liz has been an educator of at-risk youth in Indianapolis for 17 years now. She absolutely loves creating connections in her classroom, and one of her passions to teach about is the Holocaust. She is offering the class at the urging of her best friend who reminded her how Eva Kor changed Liz’s life forever four years ago when she traveled to Poland with a group and walked the grounds of Auschwitz with a sassy survivor.
