RAIN-SNOW LINEThe storm’s exact track, which could wobble 30 miles in either direction, will ultimately determine the precipitation type in certain communities and how much precipitation falls. There will be limited snow amounts in the state’s largest city toward the Seacoast before the precipitation changes to a wintry mix and/or rain. Interactive RadarAs the air gets colder Friday night, everyone in the state, including folks in southeastern New Hampshire, should see snowfall. Snow is likely Saturday morning before the storm slowly tapers off from the south to the north by Saturday afternoon. SNOWFALL PROJECTIONWhere the precipitation stays all snow in the eastern White Mountains, the northern Lakes Region, parts of the North Country and an area west of Concord and Manchester, an accumulation of about 6-12 inches of snow is likely, with a little more possible up in elevation in the favored areas in western and southwestern New Hampshire. About 3-6 inches of snow is possible along the Connecticut River and down Interstate 93 through the Concord area. A small accumulation is possible in Manchester and areas toward the Seacoast before the storm wraps up.STORM IMPACTSThe storm will heavily impact travel all day Friday, especially north and west of Manchester where the precipitation stays snow the longest. Roads will likely still be very slippery early Saturday and then gradually improve during the day as the snow winds down. The snowfall nine days before Christmas essentially clinches that snow will be on the ground for the holiday in many areas. It also will bring a significant amount of fresh, natural powder for the state’s ski areas. See the hour-by-hour timeline here:Stay tuned for updates as we go through the day.Be weather aware!
