Police responded to five shootings overnight across three Boston neighborhoods.According to Boston EMS, seven people were wounded in the shootings that occurred in Mattapan, Dorchester and Roxbury.The violence started just before 10:45 p.m. Sunday with a shooting on Woodbole Avenue in Mattapan. Boston EMS confirms the was one person transported to an area hospital from that scene.Shortly after that, there was another shooting on Greenville Street in Roxbury where one person was taken to the hospital.Around 11 p.m., police were called to St. James Street near Nubian Square where a crime scene was established. Boston EMS said another person was hospitalized after that shooting.The next shooting occurred at 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of Dorchester Avenue and Bailey Street, near the Ashmont MBTA station, where three people were injured and taken to the hospital. At approximately 2:20 a.m. one person was wounded in a shooting on Elizabeth Street in Mattapan. According to data published by the Boston Police Department last week, shootings in the city are down so far this year when compared to 2021. The total number of shooting victims from Jan. 1 through Jun. 26 was 87 in 2021 and is 67 so far in 2022.
