Let’s hear it for Pittsburgh Zone Carnegie Mellon pipe band. Okay, so I am so very proud and honored to announce this year’s grand marshal for the Pittsburgh ST Patrick’s Day parade. Pete shovel on. Senior congratulations Pete! So Peter was born in Lisk um located outside of a dark county Donegal in Ireland in 1931. Caremark Irish Dance Hall in London while both were living and working there after marrying in 1956. They immigrated to the United States arriving in March 1957 together, they proudly raised their eight Children, Liz ralph Peter Jr Patsy, john Michael kevin and Sheila dedicated to bringing irish families together to share their beloved traditions of music, dance and fellowship. Peter was a charter member of the irish center of Pittsburgh. Peter provided the music at many of the early dances and served on the center’s board, President and president. In 1980 to 81, Peter and other members arranged for an irish dancing Commission certified instructors to teach Irish step dancing at the center. Beginning in 1970 irish dance lessons continue today through many irish dance schools in the area, including the shovel and Dance academy for irish dance. A true lover of music. Peter built his first fiddle in 1991 and has made 24 fiddles since then, gifting them to his Children and grandchildren and donating to notable causes. Peter provided for his family as a proud union Carpenter for the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and joiners local 4 32 Eastern atlantic states Regional Council of Carpenters, retired since the mid 90s. He’s a lifetime member and just received his 55 year pin. A devoted catholic mr shoveling is a member of the ST john fisher Church in Churchill In 1977, Peter returned to Ireland for the first time since he left with his wife and family. Since then, there have been many joyous visits, including a 2005 Shovel in family reunion That’s got to be a 76 Audi 76, I know my ah dorados and now following the grand marshall himself, Pete seven is the Shevlin Academy of irish Dance. You may remember they showed up in september this last year and forward Gallion came and did a great rendition. And I’m sure tickets here.
