It’s still October, which means that more scary movies are dropping on streaming, including the brand-new Halloween Ends. But of course, there are plenty of non-serial-killer-related new releases on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, and more, including a Shakespearean tale, and a highly-anticipated adaptation of a best-selling book. If you’re curious about what’s new on streaming, just sit back and let us here at Decider help you figure out what to watch this weekend and where to find it.
New Movies and Shows to Stream This Weekend: Halloween Ends, Rosaline, Shantaram + More
Laurie Strode has finally had enough. Jamie Lee Curtis has played Laurie for over four decades in the Halloween films, originating the “final girl” horror archetype, but in Halloween Ends, she’s ready to be rid of the mask-wearing slasher who has tormented her for her entire life. You know who’s not ready to be rid of the man in her life? Rosaline, the woman who dated Romeo before Juliet came into the picture. In Hulu’s new movie Rosaline, the title character is not happy about the fact that her cousin, Juliet, has taken up with her former flame, and she’s fully grossed out by the star-crossed lovers. And if you’re looking for a new show to watch, Apple TV+’s Shantaram, about an Australian fugitive who makes a life for himself in India, also drops this Friday.

New on Peacock October 14: Halloween Ends
Does Michael Myers ever really die? The guy has been killing people for over forty years and tormenting poor Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) for that whole time, but in Halloween Ends, the thirteenth film in the Halloween franchise, the premise is that this may be the last trick he ever pulls. The film will premiere in theaters on Friday, October 14th, but it will stream simultaneously on Peacock that day, too.

New on Hulu October 14: Rosaline
Imagine if, instead of their families hating each other, Romeo and Juliet’s biggest issue was Romeo’s ex-girlfriend, Rosaline, who just wanted to sabotage her old boyfriend’s new relationship. That’s the premise of Hulu’s new film Rosaline, which stars Kaitlyn Dever in the title role, and adapts Bill Shakespeare’s most famous work with a modern twist from the disgruntled ex’s point of view. The film, which trades tragedy for comedy, co-stars Minnie Driver, Bradley Whitford and Christopher McDonald.
New on Apple TV+ October 14: Shantaram
In Apple TV+’s new series Shantaram, Charlie Hunnam stars as Lin, an Australian bank robber who escapes from prison and becomes a fugitive. Lin flees Australia for Bombay, where he begins life anew, doing his best to help those in the slums he lives in, while also falling in with local criminals, leading him back to prison in India. The film is based on the 2003 best-selling novel by Gregory David Roberts, whose own life story inspired it. After the book was released, both Russell Crowe and Johnny Depp were attached at various times to star in a film version, until Apple TV+ developed into a series starring Hunnam.
