Fannin County, Texas — All five members of Fannin County Commissioners Court were present for a regular meeting Tuesday, March 22, 2022.
The meeting opened with an invocation by Carolyn Rogers.

A brief update of the ongoing restoration of the 1888 Fannin County Courthouse included:
Half of the flooring on the first floor has been installed and the crew is waiting on the remainder of the flooring to be shipped.
Doors are being sanded.

Fannin County Commissioners Court appointed David Thompson and Randy Vasquez as the two newest board members of the Fannin County Child Welfare Board.
“The Child Welfare Board appreciates both of these gentlemen’s willingness to serve,” remarked Brenda Magness, chair of the Fannin County Child Welfare Board.
“You have picked two of the finest men in the county,” stated Fannin County Judge Randy Moore.

Fannin County Commissioners Court voted to accept the County Election Board recommendations for consolidating voting precincts in the May 7, 2022 Constitutional Election that is being held in conjunction with city and school elections in accordance with Texas Election Code 51.002 and 42.008.
This will be a complicated election cycle and voters are urged to examine their voter ID card to find the voting precinct. Please distinguish between the county precinct and voter precinct to avoid confusion.
Specific voting instructions from Fannin County Clerk Tammy Bigger will be published soon to assist voters.

Fannin County Commissioners Court voted to approve an agreement between Fannin County and TMC Bonham, Bonham Specialty Clinic for healthcare services provided through the Fannin County Indigent Healthcare Program.
Mark DeMay, Fannin County Indigent Healthcare Director, estimates this agreement will save the county $14,000 per year.
“Thank you, Mark,” Judge Moore said. “I think you are going to save us money.”

Fannin County Commissioners Court tabled an agenda item regarding a specific move-in date to the Fannin County Courthouse.
“I want to move in at the end of this month,” Moore told commissioners. “We need to start occupying the courthouse so these guys feel the urgency. If we get a Certificate of Occupancy, I think we can move in.”
Expect this agenda item to be addressed next week with a firm move-in date established.

Fannin County Commissioners Court voted to approve a fire alarm system monitoring agreement with Four Feathers Alarm, LLC for the Fannin County Courthouse; 3 years/$39.95 per month.
A fire-alarm system is mandatory. A call list included county judge, facility manager and emergency management coordinator.

Fannin County Commissioners Court voted to add up to $1,500 to the Janitorial Supplies budget line for three leased properties.
Michelle Case, Fannin County Purchasing Agent, told commissioners court that the county expects to save approximately $30,000 annually by outsourcing janitorial services.
