Eric Trump claims Putin could tell Donald Trump was ‘a very strong person’
Donald Trump is “guilty of numerous felony violations,” the former prosecutor who was leading the investigation into the former president has revealed.
Prosecutor Mark Pomerantz submitted his resignation last month and told district attorney Alvin Bragg there was “evidence sufficient to establish Mr Trump‘s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt,” according to the letter published by the New York Times.
Meanwhile, Mr Trump has withdrawn his endorsement from Alabama congressman and Senate candidate Mo Brooks, citing his longtime ally’s “horrible mistake” of suggesting that Republicans need to move on from the claim that the 2020 election was stolen.
Mr Trump accused the congressman of “going woke” in a lengthy statement. In a response, Mr Brooks revealed that from September 2021 onwards, Mr Trump repeatedly asked him to rescind the 2020 elections, immediately remove Joe Biden from the White House, reinstall him as president, and hold a new special election for the presidency – all of which the Alabama lawmaker says he knew to be legally impossible.
Report: Donald Trump Jr launching news aggregator
Donald Trump Jr is launching a news aggregation app, one that he says will break Apple News and Big Tech’s “monopoly”. The app, MxM News, is apparently targeting a gap in the market left by The Drudge Report, a conservative aggregator that Axios reports has seen its traffic decline by more than half in the last few years.

ICYMI: Mo Brooks tears into Trump after he pulls endorsement
Right-wing Congressman Mo Brooks yesterday lost Donald Trump’s coveted endorsement in the Alabama senate race, this after desperately boasting that he’d spoken at the 6 January White House rally and promising to “fire” Mitch McConnell if elected. And now the worst has happened, Mr Brooks has unleashed a torrent of scorn at his former supporter.
Mr Brooks, who earned Mr Trump’s disgust by suggesting Republicans need to “move on” from the false claim that the 2020 election was stolen, used a written statement to hit the president where it hurts: disowning his efforts to throw out Joe Biden’s victory.
Graig Graziosi has the story.

Attempts to bar “insurrectionist” representatives from Congress continue
North Carolina activists have failed in their attempts to get Trumpist Congressman Madison Cawthorn banned from this year’s ballot over his alleged support for those who stormed the Capitol on 6 January, but others like them are trying the same thing in other states. The New Yorker reports that Marjorie Taylor Greene is now facing a lawsuit that claims she qualifies as an “insurrectionist” under the 14th Amendment and is thus barred from running for office.

Report: Jan 6 still casts shadow over Capitol life
Tours of the US Capitol are set to resume soon – and according to this report from Politico, there is no escaping the feeling that people who were involved in the 6 January riot may yet try to re-enter the building. And more ominously yet for those giving the tours, the Capitol Police seem underprepared to handle the risk.
