The US Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) has announced the winner of its Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Office’s inaugural Postdoctoral Recognition Award.
Awarded to postdoctoral fellows from DOE National Laboratories, the honour recognises outstanding contributions in hydrogen and fuel cell research challenges.
Eun Joo Park from the Los Alamos National Laboratory was the winner of the award.
Park was recognised for outstanding contributions to developing polymer electrolytes for next-generation electrochemical devices, including fuel cells, electrolysers, and flow batteries.
DOE’s EERE also named two runners up:
- Luigi Osmieri from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory for research contributions to synthesise and characterise platinum-group-metal-free electrodes for fuel cells and electrolysers.
- Guosong Zeng from the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory for research contributions to advance light-activated semiconductor cathodes to produce hydrogen via photoelectrochemical water splitting.
