STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A Department of Education (DOE) employee was arrested Friday night on the East Shore, police detailed.
Grace Seddio Dimaio, 53, was arrested within the confines of the 122nd precinct for petit larceny just after 3 p.m., according to a NYPD spokesperson.
Police told the Advance/SILive.com Dimaio was left inside of an office of a coworker and allegedly removed a cellphone without permission or authority.
According to the NYPD, Dimaio was on-duty at the time of the incident. The police spokesperson would not say what school the incident occurred at or provide an address, only stating it happened within the confines of the 122nd Precinct.
The Department of Education did not immediately return a request for comment by the time of publication Saturday afternoon.
