Sister wife, Christine Brown, officially said her goodbye in the latest midseason teaser.
The TV personality, 50, announced her separation in November 2021 from husband, Kody Brown, whom she was spiritually married to in 1994.
The special trailer obtained by People showed glimpses of the reality star’s effect of leaving the family, along with the ups and downs with Kody’s other sister wives, such as an emotional argument with Janelle Brown.
Leaving the family: Christine Brown, 50, was seen saying her final farewell to Kody and the family in People’s exclusive Sister Wives midseason trailer
At the start of the exclusive look of what is to come in the 17th season of the hit series, Christine could be seen preparing for her big move to Utah.
‘I am leaving in a week,’ the star stated in the clip, adding, ‘I just hope they don’t hate me.’
In the next scene, Meri Brown, another sister wife, was seated on the couch and expressed with lack of concern, ‘Congratulations, you’re leaving the family,’ in reference to Christine leaving. ‘Like, I don’t know what I’m supposed to say to this.’
Kody was then seen getting emotional over her leaving, and while the two were outside, he yelled, ‘You are running away, rather than being accountable!’
Midseason: The exclusive teaser trailer from People showcased the drama that is yet to come in the 17th season of Sister Wives, which began airing last month in September
‘You’re like, ‘I’m divorced. I’m leaving. I’m done with you,’ Kody continued, before driving off. Sister wife, Janelle Brown, then gave a warm hug to Christine to show her support.
A scene of Christine’s final moments was then portrayed in the teaser, showing the metaphorical division of the wives’ stance on her decision to leave.
One one side, Christine and Janelle stood closely with their children while Robyn Brown and Kody remained on the opposite side with their children.
As rain loomed in the distance, Kody stated with his arms crossed, ‘I’m leaving in five minutes,’ before stalking off.
‘I don’t want to see Christine ever again,’ he adamantly expressed during a portion of a sit down interview.
New moments: Meri Brown, one of the sister wives, stated, ‘I don’t know what I’m supposed to say to this’ in regards to Christine’s departure
The remaining trailer clip showcased the effect that Christine’s departure had on the sister wives and Kody. ‘I’m feeling betrayed. I can’t imagine how Kody is feeling,’ Meri explained.
Robyn then gave her own opinion on the situation, adding, ‘He still has marriages with us and he still has to fix them or he’s going to ruin every single one of them.’
Janelle also appeared to be having problems with her marriage with Kody, with him telling her, ‘You and I have been acting like we weren’t a married couple for most of our marriage.’
The two were spiritually married in 1993, however, Janelle appeared to be having her doubts if she wanted to stay in the marriage. ‘If he can’t handle my independence, I don’t know if this works for me anymore.’
Support: Christine’s daughter, Gwendolyn, whom she shares with Kody, supported her mother as well as Janelle as she said farewell to the family in the 17th season
As the trailer wound down to a close, Robyn was seen in a hospital after a Covid diagnosis, and Janelle angrily walking away from Kody after another heated argument.
‘This is a really bad idea for you to walk off on this one,’ he called out after her as the teaser abruptly ended.
The 17th season officially began airing last month in September, but People’s midseason trailer showed fans that more drama is yet to come.
