CAMCO (Complete Association Management Company) of Nevada hosted its third annual educational tradeshow and dinner event on Monday, September 12 at the Gold Coast Las Vegas. Proceeds from the event supported the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
CAMCO’s annual tradeshow offers educational support to HOA board members and community managers. At the event, board members from CAMCO communities and community managers can take FREE classes to earn continuing education credits. In addition, they can also meet and network with CAMCO vendors before dinner.
“For us, this has become an exciting annual charity and educational event. This year we are thrilled to partner with the Multiple Sclerosis Society and support their important work in our community,” said CAMCO Marketing Director Mary Rendina. “We know our board members and vendors also benefit from the education at the event. We strive to tailor the topics to the most relevant subjects to their situation today.”
This year’s highlights included:
- “Dollars and Sense: Everything You Should Know about Banking and Your Community Association,” a class taught by CIT Bank’s Chuck Balacy and Tony Troio covering reserve investments, HOA loans and lockbox payments
- “Board 101,” which offers insights on board member roles and responsibilities, governance, finances and meetings. The course was taught by CAMCO Vice President of Portfolio Services, Cyndi Koester, Developer Services Vice President, Mozell Williams and Accounting Director, Yvette Sauceda
- Community association conflict, alternate dispute resolution and problem solving were subjects covered during presentations by Gregory Kerr, Esq. of Wolf Rifkin Shapiro, Schulman and Rabkin, LLP and Cameron Clark of United Assessment Recovery.
This year’s event attracted more than 30 exhibitors and had over 100 attendees. Past tradeshows supported nonprofits American Cancer Society and Raise the Future, which offers foster care support to local children. CAMCO hosts its tradeshow in the fall every year.
