Two juvenile boys were arrested late Tuesday evening on firearm charges, including one who police say pointed a pistol at them while they were searching for a missing juvenile in Dorchester.
“What’s up mother (expletive)s,” the 17-year-old boy allegedly said to the cops in the driveway of a house on the 90-block of Olney Street late Tuesday evening, according to the police report.
Officers wrote that he was holding the .22-caliber Smith & Wesson 2214 at shoulder height and standing in a “bladed stance.”
The juvenile, who is “known to officers,” was charged with juvenile delinquency charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and assault by means of a dangerous weapon.
Boston Police officers had been in the neighborhood 10 to 25 minutes before the encounter with the boy and were asking around to find an address where they believed a runaway kid was staying.
The officers were drawn to a nearby alleyway where they report seeing two people crouch and run behind a home. The cops followed and encountered the teen in the driveway behind the home. They demanded that he drop the gun as they drew their own and rushed for cover, according to the police report.
The suspect ran back around the house and vanished, according to the report, until one black sneaker pointed them to underneath a Mercedes, where they nabbed the suspect, who allegedly said, “My piece is right there, my piece is (in) my pants.”
Earlier that night, at around 8:20 p.m., officers made another gun arrest of a minor who they say was drinking alcohol around a red Honda Accord in a “secluded group” — made up of alleged members of the Lenox Street, Villa Victoria and Heath Street gangs. They were in a corner of a Villa Victoria housing complex parking lot “secluded from people enjoying the weather, listening to music and the children playing street games.”
The officers were drawn to one member of the group, who police had interacted with in another investigation on Saturday. The boy was sporting a tan Gucci fanny-pack hanging around his neck and pinned under his arm.
Officers went to pat down the fanny-pack and a bit of a struggle ensued, during which the bag’s strap broke. Officers allegedly recovered a silver Smith & Wesson 6906 pistol, with 11 9 mm rounds in the magazine and another chambered.
The juvenile was arrested and faces juvenile delinquency charges of carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possessing a firearm without an FID card and possessing a large-capacity firearm.
