Police Commissioner Richard Ross said Monday that the gunman emerged from a group of three men who were in a parking lot and opened fire, and hit six people.
Police said one man was killed and at least five others, including four teenagers, were injured when shots were fired at a Philadelphia graduation party in Philadelphia.
No one was in custody, and the police, who were frustrated after a particularly violent weekend, said they were worried about possible reprisals.
Earlier, police said seven other people were injured in the shooting that took place shortly after 10 o’clock at night.
The dead man was 24 years old, while four teenagers aged 15 to 17 suffered bullet wounds that did not threaten his life, mainly in his legs, police commissioner Richard Ross told reporters around midnight. A 21-year-old boy was also injured.
The shooting happened when about 60 people were at a graduation celebration in a direction near two playgrounds in southwestern Philadelphia, police said.
