Police said Crossen had just left a passenger when they found him in his vehicle, but Lyft questioned this and said he had not driven for Lyft since April.
“Security is critical to Lyft and we take these allegations very seriously,” a Lyft spokeswoman told. “The driver’s license provided by this person when he requested driving with Lyft showed no history of disqualification, he has not driven on the Lyft Platform since April and it is permanently forbidden to drive with Lyft.”

Lyft officials also said that Crossen had approved background checks and DMVs in March.
