INDIANAPOLIS — An investigation is underway after an officer-involved shooting at an apartment complex on Indy’s northeast side.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department confirms that officers were involved in a shooting in the 3800 block of Red Mill Place around 6:30 p.m. Friday.
The IMPD says officers responded to the apartment complex and found a 48-year-old man in the street with a handgun. When they told the man to drop the weapon, they said he instead approached the officers, pointing the gun at them.
Officers shot the man, fatally wounding him. No officers were injured in the shooting.
