A t-storm around in the p.m.. High: 98 Low: 83.
Here are the top three stories today in Las Vegas:
- The Nellis dunes area has been plagued with illegal dumping. Near I-15 and Apex, refrigerators, grocery bags, and waste can be seen on both sides of the roadway. The Nevada Highway Patrol reminds the community that illegal dumping carries a hefty fine. (KTNV 13 Action News Las Vegas)
- As of Thursday evening, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police is continuing to search for missing Irene Cordova. She reportedly went missing in the 3000 block of Liberty Circle Drive on Tuesday, Jul. 26, and may be in emotional distress. Anyone with information about Cordova’s whereabouts is asked to contact the department immediately. (News3LV)
- The federal government will be providing the City of Las Vegas with $23.9 million in funding for the Stewart Avenue project. The funds will reportedly be used to widen sidewalks, improve ADA accessibility, and upgrade lighting. The federal government also provided funding for Fernley’s Victory Project. (Fox 5 Las Vegas)

- Earlier this week, The Clark County School District announced its participation in multiple free and reduced-price school lunch programs for the 2022-23 school year. Under the federal Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act, CCSD says it will be able to offer all students free breakfast and lunch at all participating school sites without collecting household applications.
